Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Chesnota ("we", "us", the "App") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App. The data controller is [YOUR FULL NAME / SOLE PROPRIETOR NAME], a sole proprietor registered in Ukraine. Contact: support-chesnota@speedrun.guru.

1. Information we collect

Chesnota is designed to collect as little personal data as possible.

Data you create in the App. Your saved quotes, streak, onboarding answers, and settings are stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, this data is synced across your own devices through your private iCloud account. This synchronization is performed by Apple within your personal iCloud storage; we (the developer) do not have access to this data and do not receive it. You can turn off syncing in your device's iCloud settings.
Subscription and purchase data. When you purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to manage and validate subscriptions. We receive anonymized subscription status (active/expired, plan type) but do not receive your payment card or full Apple ID.
Analytics data. We use PostHog to understand how the App is used (for example, which screens are opened and where users drop off). This data is associated with an anonymous identifier, not your name. We do not log the content you read or write.
Diagnostic data. Apple may provide us with aggregated crash and performance data.

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, precise location, or browsing history.

2. How we use information

To provide and operate the App and its features.
To manage your subscription and unlock paid content.
To understand usage patterns and improve the App.
To diagnose and fix technical problems.

3. Third-party services

We share limited data with the following processors, each under their own privacy terms:

Apple — payment processing, app distribution, and iCloud synchronization of your data within your own private iCloud account (we have no access to this).
RevenueCat, Inc. — subscription management and validation.
PostHog — product analytics (EU-hosted).

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

4. Data retention

Data stored on your device remains until you delete the App or clear its data. If iCloud sync is enabled, a copy may remain in your private iCloud account until you remove it from your iCloud settings. Analytics and subscription data are retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above.

5. Your rights

Depending on your location (including under the EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support-chesnota@speedrun.guru. You can also delete all locally stored data at any time by deleting the App.

6. Children

Chesnota is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
